Snow day (turned week)!!!!!!!

We woke up on Monday, President's Day to about 3 inches of snow (They were predicting 5-8, boo!)  Thankfully it was a holiday and the girls didn't have school and Leevi didn't have work!  School was cancelled Tuesday because the roads were still bad and cancelled on Wednesday because we got another inch over night, and then cancelled on Thursday because of negative temps!  It's a bummer that our school year got extended past Memorial day because of these snow days, but we had a fun week and enjoyed the time off!!!!!

So much prep just to get out the door!!!!
Snow angels!

Such pretty snowflakes!!!
Hailey helped Leevi shovel the driveway!
The little hill in our yard is perfect!!!
Kai's snowsuit was tight when she put it on in November (the first and last time we had snow!) but it really didn't fit at all this time!!!!  She was pretty miserable!!!

Spinning down the hill!
He LOVES the snow and is probably the best fitted with gear...we put fleece footed jammies under his snowsuit and he stayed so toasty and lasted about 2 hours outside!!!
Hailey made herself a chair!
We finally tied her suit around her waist and then she wore her coat...it didn't stay up all that well, but she made do!!!
So sweet!!!!!
We built a little bump at the bottom of our hill!
Kailee's snowcastle...we didn't have any luck with the snow packing well for a snowman, but we were able to pack it into a sand bucket with some success!!!
The next day we headed to the big hill at the United Methodist church a few streets away...apparently this is THE hill to come sledding on in this area!  Thankfully, we missed the big crowds the day before and the kids had a blast and wore themselves out walking up with hill each time!!!
Bellywhopper!!!!
Ethan Heberling!
Rachel Heberling...she and Hailey went down multiple times together!
Snow day #3 the girls ventured into the backyard while Luke was napping and worked hard together on a snow fort!  We modified my snow bib to fit Kai by criss-crossing the suspenders over her head and tying a hair tie around the extra material on the legs (if you look close around her knees you can see the knots!)  It surprisingly worked really well!!!!
It was cold, but the sunshine helped!!!!!!
After about an hour, Kailee noticed a little bunny in the log behind them...Hailey didn't believe her at first!!!!  I guess it didn't mind the girls' noise!!!
So proud of their fort!!!! (And the bunny is mere feet away!)

The Greens!!!!

The Greens made the drive over from Kentucky for President's Day weekend.  They arrived Thursday night just after dinner and left Sunday morningish before the big snow hit!!!!!

Once we got the text that they had passed Six Flags, major excitement kicked in!!!!!!  They stalked the entryway for at least 30 minutes prior to their arrival!!!!!!
Lots of Allie-time!!!!!

Besties with bedhead!!!!!

All 7 kids!!!!!!!  They all got along soooooo GREAT all weekend!!!!!!!
The Greens are also friends with the Heberlings (that's how we met the Heberlings) so they came over for dinner on both Friday and Saturday nights.  Charlie and Leevi squeezed in some golf on Friday and Amy, Jenny, and I left all 10 kids with the dads and went out for Mexican on Friday night!!!!  The following day was Valentine's Day and after basketball games, we played and Leevi BBQ'd ribs and a brisket!!!
Kid pic!!!!
Hailey's and Ethan's birthday are a week apart (turning 8 and 9) so we celebrated with cake on Valentine's day!

And of course no visit is complete without a photo shoot of this adorable girl!!!!!  The dress she is wearing was Jenny's!!!!
She is just too much!!!!  :)

Thankfully, the kids were out back playing while we got some pictures in because once they came in to "help", Allie was over it!!!!
Eli and Kailee had a blast in her office!!!
The big kids!!!!
Allie girl definitely felt the LOVE!!!!
The Lukes!!!!  My Luke is hit or miss as to whether or not he'll acknowledge that there are two Lukes!  :)  He usually says, "Just ONE!" and holds up his finger! :)
Mr. Charlie and Luke!
Sweet Allie girl!!!!
The girls couldn't get enough pictures with her!!!!!

It was a crazy weekend of FUN and Kai put herself down for a nap the afternoon they left!  Ha!!!  The following day Hailey napped and I was asleep on the couch by 8pm!!!!  We can't wait to see them again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Valentine Teddy Bears!!!

My parents surprised the kids with a HUGE Vermont Teddy Bear for Valentine's Day!  They named him Blaze and he's a huge hit!!!!

This was on the side of the box that he came in!
A few days later they decided that one wasn't enough and ordered TWO MORE!!!!!!!!!  OMG!!!!!  They had me place the bears in their beds while they were asleep and then see how long it took them to figure out that they each had one now!!!
Once Hailey woke up (in Kailee's room because the Greens were visiting!!) she noticed that there were two, but they didn't think to look in Luke's room!  Luke brought his downstairs a few minutes later and the girls did a double take!!!!  So fun!!!!!
Meet Buster, Blaze, and Lyla!!!!
They are the perfect bed snugglers and T.V. loungers!!!!!!
I've warned the kids that they HAVE to keep the bears off of the floor when they aren't playing with them because Leila will most definitely claim them as her own!!!!!
