Back in May the kids and I sprinted to Heidelberg for a Magic Tree House party in between school and soccer practice! The MTH books are an absolute favorite of the girls so it was worth the rushed afternoon! We have devoured this series...so creative for a children's book; non-fictional details in a fictional part...this summer we have learned about Mozart, Da Vinci, the San Fransico earthquake, Louie Armstrong, Shakespeare, the Civil War, Pompeii, mummies, ninjas, and tsunamis! Pretty cool!

Magic Tree House party! They made a heiroglyphics scroll from Mummies in the Morning , a pirate bandana from Pirates Past Noon , and a volcano from Vacation under the Volcano |
Summer Reading Program...this year's theme was Reading is Delicious! Each week they did a craft involving FOOD! Yum! And the End of the Program party was a free showing of Madagascar 3 at the movie theatre!

Making "Sushi" from a twinkie and candy with frosting as wasabi and chocolate syrup at soy sauce! I learned quickly to feed them a healthy lunch BEFORE storytime! :) |

Making aprons and eating ice cream with a recipe for how to make your own homemade ice cream |
