And so it begins...

Hailey is just checking off the list of dental work in her young life...when she went for a cleaning this summer the dentist referred us to an orthodontist because her top tooth from her 2nd shark teeth incident hadn't moved forward like it should.  Her bottom teeth went in front of that top tooth when she bites and over time could wear down the enamel from rubbing it and most importantly, it could easily break her top tooth if she fell down and hit her chin.  She was sooooo excited to be the first kid in her class with a retainer or braces!  

She picked the color!

She's had it for about a month now and her tooth has already drastically moved forward!  :)  We go back monthly, but it was initially predicted that she'd have to wear it for 5-6 months.  Thankfully, she is VERY responsible and great at remembering to put it back in after she eats and storing it in it's proper case while she's eating (lunch time at school scares me!!!)  Insurance paid for half but it still cost us $800...she knows that all she's getting for Christmas or her birthday is a retainer if she looses it!  :)
