Here are some video snippets of Christmas morning. Hailey woke up that morning and crawled into bed with us and then heard Kailee in her room and went in her crib to snuggle. She does this often and it's great when I can lay in my bed for 10 extra minutes! :) Hailey hadn't remembered yet that it was Christmas, so the video starts with me getting them out of Kailee's crib. Christmas present Number One was that the girls didn't get up until 7:30! WooHoo!

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
On Christmas Eve we baked cookies for Santa and then headed to church...I love that we sang Happy Birthday to Jesus. Kailee crashed on the short drive home and didn't move while I was changing her clothes. We had to say goodbye to our Christmas Elf, Snowy, who had been watching over the girls and reporting to Santa for the past few weeks. He moved around every night when he returned back from the North Pole, but must have seen it fitting to sit in the tree on Christmas Eve. Since you aren't allowed to touch the elf (he'll loose his magic!) Hailey was really scared to be this close to him for a picture. Christmas morning! A letter from Snowy to the girls So exciting! Kailee walked around with the bow on her bum for the longest time I think the new baby is a hit! I love this picture....Hailey playing with the dollhouse and Kailee playing with the barn....

Merry Christmas!
Here are our Christmas cards since we've been married. Our first Christmas together was only 5 days after our wedding, so I didn't exactly get cards out that year! :) But here are our Christmas photos from 2003 and on. Finally, in 2007 I figured out how to create my own card on Microsoft Publisher!
2006 (Hailey first Christmas) 2007 (Leevi was supposed to deploy right before Christmas, but didn't!) 2008 (Kailee's first Christmas)
2009 (featuring Leevi's homecoming...the BEST Christmas present EVER!)
We are definitely excited for Christmas this year! Hailey has been counting the days and hopefully will be able to go to bed on time. Today, I found the last present I had been scouring the stores for a dollhouse the girls are getting....the room accessory was in a restock cart at Walmart....SCORE!! I'm a happy little elf right now!!! :)

Christmas Pictures & THE TREE
I've given up on my Christmas tree for this year. I don't particularly like having a fake tree, but if you get a real tree too early in Hawaii the heat will kill it and the pine needles fall off and with as much as the babies touch it I didn't want to mess with sweeping up pine needles all of December. I heard on the radio yesterday that the last real trees on the island were going for $120!!!!!!!!!!!! And tiny, but real, tabletop trees were going for $60!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Insane!!!!!!! We finally got around to decorating the tree last weekend, but as I expected Kailee won't leave the ornaments alone. I went through our decorations and only pulled out a few and let Hailey put them on the tree. So we have a tree with only the top half decorated and I'm surprised that I don't really care! :) We are having friends over on Christmas for dinner and then the tree will be the first to go the next day! I will leave all the other decorations up until the New Year.
I've had the girls pose in front of the tree so much now that Kailee sees the camera and "assumes" her position in front of (or practically underneath) the tree. :)

It's fitting that the baby is included in the family pictures! Hailey wanted to sit in the tree after Kailee did it

Kailee's Obsession
I've mentioned in previous posts about Kailee's obsession with one specific baby and am finally getting around to writing about it. This one particular baby (and we have hundreds it seems) was given to Hailey by Leevi when they were out shopping for my 30th birthday presents. Leevi is a sucker when it comes to Hailey asking for a baby! :) So, for some unknown reason, this specific baby is a hot ticket item in the MacDonald household. Hailey has recently realized the true obsesssion that Kailee has with this baby and won't fight with her as often for it. I've been looking everywhere for the same baby to buy for Kailee for Christmas, but I can't find it. I went ahead and bought the two of them matching twins babies...we'll see if Kailee forms a bond or if this new baby won't get a second look. :)
She hugs it, kisses it, feeds it, pushes it in the stroller and even steals my dish towel from the kitchen and wants me to wrap it up like it were a blankie. She even took a pair of hawaiian slipper ornaments off the tree and tried to put it on the baby's feet. It's also a great diversion...if I'm trying to do something and Kailee wants to be held I'll say, "Kai, where is your baby?!" She'll toddle off to find it. And when she comes back I'll say, "Is your baby hungry?!" And she'll wander off to find food in the play kitchen. :)

p.s. I should add that the bandaids on Kailee's legs in the pictures are from her 15 month well baby check up. She's in the 50% percentile for weight and the 80% percentile for height. We were traveling during Hailey's 15th month, so she had her check up at 16 months and was 6 oz heavier and a half an inch shorter. I don't think Hailey was ever above the 50% percentile for height, so we'll have to see if Kailee ever catches Hailey.
Happy Anniversary to Us!
Leevi and I celebrated 7 years of marriage together yesterday! The girls went to the Buelows (Gavin's house) and Leevi and I played a round of golf at KoOlina and had dinner at Roy's. We've decided (why did it take us 7 years?!) that we LOVE this idea and should start a tradition of golf and dinner each anniversary. Although, once we leave Hawaii, golfing in December might not be possible. I thought after seeing the pictures of the winter wonderland from friends on the East coast, it might make me a little homesick, but I quickly got over that when I was chilly last night cuddled under a blanket on our couch and made Leevi shut the back windows to brace ourselves for our 65 degree night. :)
And I should add a special thanks to Steph and Mark for watching the girls ALL DAY! They even took them into town to see the holiday lights in Honolulu!

Daddy and his girls (minus one)
With the exception of Kailee, who has been going to bed really early, this is typically where you will find Hailey and Leila! Hailey is like glue (Leevi can't even sneak away to the bathroom without 20 questions!) And poor Leila is terrrrrrrrrified of the fireworks (Hawaiians tend to celebrate with fireworks from Thanksgiving until after the New Year!) ???? Anyway, I snuck the pictures the other night....
