Fall Creek Falls, TN

Instead of one of us making the 19 hour road trip to either Mo or Va, we decided to meet my parents about halfway in Tn.  We found a gorgeous cabin on Homeaway.com in Fall Creek Falls, Tn (Spencer, Tn...East of Knoxville).  It was absolutely perfect and something we could see ourselves buying one day as a vacation rental!  The quiet little neighborhood had about 15 homes and was circled around a FREE yet slightly run down 9 hole golf course!  It was too perfect for Leevi to walk out the front door and tee-off! There was also a pond just across the street that we fished in!
Leevi teeing off right in front of the house!
Tons of open space for the kids to RUN!
We would so go back!!!!!!!
LOVE!
Wrap around porch!
Looking across at the pond
Granddaddy and the girls were fishing when Leevi circled around from golfing

So much fun!

These next pictures are out of order but we busted out the good cameras to get a group picture
So sweet

Inside the cabin looking down from upstairs

There was also a community indoor/outdoor pool that we basically had to ourselves the majority of the time!

We checked out Fall Creek Falls State Park and we are so glad we did!  We knew there were hiking trails to waterfalls but we didn't realize how close and easy it was to find!
WOW!!!!
A little chilly at first!

Leevi and the big kids swam out and slid down the falls
Weeeee

Kailee loves finding heart rocks!

Such a fun afternoon!!!
We were there on June 8th and released balloons to heaven for my brother, Doug's, 40th birthday

A little campfire and s'mores out back
My parents brought a few low-key fireworks just for fun!
And of course, sparklers!

Directing Granddaddy on which way to run...they got a kick out of him sprinting away because the fireworks seemed to be chasing him!

So pretty and so peaceful out there!!!
Out of order again, but more from the State Park

We learned about building these rock stacks on our trip to Arizona three years ago
Lots of splashing!

A very cool bench that turns into a table!
Sunset baseball on the golf course!

Goofballs

So sad to say goodbye so we'll end with this ridiculous picture!!!!  :)  It was an awesome, relaxing week!!!!!

Friends in Kentucky

We turned around from our trip to Dallas and headed to Kentucky one last time.  I truly can't remember the blur, but that week in between trips, we had movers at the house packing up our first shipment for Hawaii!  Oh my! We were meeting my parents halfway in Tennessee so the Greens at Fort Knox and the Doziers at Fort Campbell (both families we met in Germany) were the perfect stops along the way!
 Luke and Allie Green
Luke had a blast playing with Rose
 Allie and Whitney

Our final "until next time" pic.  The Greens also had an upcoming move to Texas.

We stayed with the Greens for a few nights and then headed to Fort Campbell (2 hrs away from Knox) for a night with the Doziers before the final stretch to Tennessee.

Sweet friends...so excited that our paths crossed for the last year that we were in Missouri!
Scott Dozier was out of town when we passed through on the way to TN but after our week with my parents he was home so we extended our trip by a day and passed back through Fort Campbell for a night so Leevi could see one of his BFFs!

GIRL power!!!!
Brandi sewed this adorable baby blanket for Whitney but Luke quickly claimed it for the ride home!

Memorial Day in Dallas

We made one last trip before the move to Dallas over Memorial Day weekend and we also were able to celebrate Deuce's birthday a little early!

Pat wanted to attempt a family picture since everyone was in town.  We struck out on a photo studio that had a ridiculous wait so we set up the trusty tripod outside and bribed the kids!

The grandkids (minus one)
The ladies
The baby boys!
The guys!
Love this picture of them!
Meiosha and 3 of her 4 kids, Pat and Terry, us, Cherish, Londale and little Londale, Christy and Antione
That's like dream world right there!!! hahaha
So many fun distant relatives to play with!!!
 Cousin-in-law fun!
 Playing with Grandma Pat
There is always bribery involved in photo shoots! :)
It was a blur of a weekend but we were so blessed to be so close (8 hour car ride, ha!) for the past two years and truly enjoyed all of our visits (and visitors from Texas)
