Message from Your Heart 5K Family Fun Run

A high school student that lives in our community put together a 5K Family Fun Run for the awareness of women's heart disease for her Girl Scout project.  Her parents were worried about the potential of a small turnout but were plesantly surprised when a ton of people came!  It was so well organized and the 3 miles took us around our post.  The girls started on their scooters but Kai collided with a stroller and wiped out and was mentally DONE so she hung out in our stroller and took care of Luke for me (I did make her get out at the end and run the last 50 yards to the finish line!)  And Hailey rode her scooter but then switched to her bike when the course took us past our house!

Warming up

Decent crowd!

He did GREAT!  Hung out for a bit, slept for a bit, then needed his pacifier for a bit which Big Sister Kai helped with!  And then he went back to sleep as we walked home after the race.

Her first 5K!!!!!!!!

Her first 5K!!!!!

His first 5K!!!!!!!!

Luke, Lance, Kailee, and Hailey (Hailey was pouting because her time card got wet and tore....thankfully we were able to get a new one!!!!)

Running off to fill up her new water bottle

Our first family 5K....Leevi, of course, is traveling again and had to leave the morning of the race.
Diana and I walked the 5K together since both of our husbands are out of town this week.  We were very proud of our time considering we were both pushing a double stroller and dealing with the occasional whine and dropped toy!!!!  She and I have been walking in the mornings with 4 kids and 2 dogs while the big kids are in school....we try to get 3 miles in a day if the little ones let us!  It doesn't compare to walking up Makakilo hill though!  :)

Mother's Day 2012

I had a perfect (and relaxing) Mother's Day this year!  Luke and I slept in until about 9:00 and came downstairs to a breakfast of purple pancakes!  Then the girls gave me their gifts and put on a ballet performance.  We then relaxed on the couch watching old home movies while Leevi cleaned the house and got some yardwork done before the Doziers came over that afternoon.  It was gorgeous out so we were able to eat our steak dinner out back while the kids played.

So blessed!

All FOUR of my babies!

The girls had a wardrobe change before their friends came over....no wonder I can't stay on top of the laundry!!!

Daddy-Daughter Dance

A few weeks ago the Girls Scouts hosted a Daddy-Daughter Dance and thankfully Leevi wasn't traveling and was able to take Hailey!  She LOVED it and talked about it all weekend!!!  She even wore her wrist corsage to school on Monday!  :)  (Leevi was the one who thought to buy her a corsage...so sweet!!!  Apparently she was the only one who had one!)  :)

They took the fancy truck instead of the minivan!  :)

She was so excited to be able to ride in the front seat (on post and just around the corner at her school)

One Month Old!!!!!

I can't get over at how fast this month flew by!!!!!!  Yet, at the same time it seems that Luke has been a part of our lives forever.  He's a great baby and adored beyond belief by his sisters.  He's going through stages of catnaps for a few days and then sleeping all day for a few days.  My housework gets so behind on those "catnap" days but then I can make up for it on the "sleep" days.  (Laundry has consumed my life it seems and I need to make the time to sort through all of our clothes to switch out the winter/summer ones!) He is amazing through the night though and only up to quickly eat and then back to sleep so I really can't complain!

He has started to make sounds other than a cry or a grunt!  I can't exactly call them "coos" yet, but it's getting close.  We're going to enter a whole new world of excitement when he starts responding to the girls!  :)

Sorry about the amount of pictures....the website I used for collages has closed and I'm desperately waiting for the new site, Picmonkey, to put on their collage feature!!!

Easter (A month late)

We had a really drawn out Easter this year since I was still in the hospital on Easter Sunday.  I'm glad I took this picture below of the girls in their Easter dresses on the first day of Spring because Leevi didn't think to take one when he got them ready for church.

As promised, the girls did get another chance to paint my belly like an Easter egg (less than 24 hours before Luke was born!!!!!!!!)  I was actually having contractions during this time...mild of course...

We postponed the Easter Bunny festivities since Easter Eve fell on the day that Luke was born and Leevi stayed that night at the hospital and the girls were sleeping at a friend's house.  Leevi was able to take them to church before they came up to the hospital.  He actually liked Easter Sunday better this way without the Bunny masking the true meaning of Easter.
Luke's outfit says "My First Easter"...it was a hand me down from my neighbor and I had actually forgotten that I had packed it in the hospital bag.

The girls dyed eggs with Leevi on the Monday after Easter before coming up to the hospital again (and YES, their hair was done before they left the house! :) Thankfully, Leevi is great at doing their hair and I didn't need to worry about that task....the outfits he let Kai walk out of the house in on a daily basis is another story!!! :) He picked his battles I suppose! :)
A couple of days after we were home from the hospital and somewhat settled, we had Hailey write a letter to the Easter Bunny asking if he could finally come!  :)

I didn't take any pictures of the girls looking for their baskets or hunting for the eggs that the bunny hid but here's an after picture!  (The Belle and Ariel dolls aren't from Easter but apparently important enough to be including in the photo...they were Big Sister presents from Luke)

The week before Easter our community had an Egg Hunt sponsored by PWOC.  We had no clue what to expect for a turnout and were pleasantly surprised with the amount that came.  I still have NO complaints about our tiny community!!!!!  Hailey's class drops to 8 next week!!!!!!

I stole these from a friend on FB...guess this was Luke's first offical egg hunt!

Kai made out being the oldest out of the 0-3yr section

Checking out the loot!
