Luke is FOUR!!!!

I love celebrating birthdays, just not my own kids...they are growing waaayyyy too fast!!!  It's no joke how quickly it goes!  Luke hears me say to Whitney "You better stop that growin!" and he says, "And me too??!"  Oh yes, little buddy!!!   Although he can grow out of the tantrums, ha!  And the coming into our room in the night, ha!  He is still super helpful with Whitney and still amazingly organized and so thoughtful.  I can totally see how moms of boys are way overprotective of their son when it comes to dating and marriage...oh my, he's gonna make an amazing husband and daddy (I guess growing up with three sisters will make you learn the ins and outs of women whether you want to or not!)

He goes the first week of May for his 4 yr check up and the dreaded 4 yr old shots!  I held off until Whitney's 6 month appt so we can just do it together (she'll get shots too; wish me luck!) He's still pretty short but a friend of mine gave me a glimmer of hope when she told me that her brother was 4'11" at the start of high school and finally grew in 11th grade and he's 6' 2"!  My only wish is that he's taller than his sisters!!!!

He is obsessed with monster trucks, hot wheels, and superheroes!  And when he's not playing with those, you'll find him outside!!!

And a few favorite recent quotes of his:

Running through the house: "I'm so fast I can hear the wind inside my ears!!"
When he sees a new outfit on Whitney: "Awww, look at that pretty girl!"
Motivating Cody to do his own buckle in the car: "You can do it!  You're a big boy!  You wear UNDERWEAR!!!"  I chuckled to myself all day on that one!  My new mantra in life is "I can do it!  I wear underwear!!"

His last picture as a 3 yr old is pitiful!  :(  He and Whitney both had fevers and a cold.  Thankfully the fever broke in the night and he woke up as a happy 4 yr old!!!!
Cinnamon buns for breakfast with the girls before school (Whitney was still snoozing!)
Daddy was able to step away from his class to FaceTime to sing Happy Birthday and open presents.
 A few more presents...
I suppose if it's your birthday you can do what you want!!!
We FaceTimed with my parents to open their gift from them.  Racecar legos!!!
I helped a bit, but he did a great job following the directions ("the map" as he calls it)

The girls had American Heritage Girls that night at church and I probably would have let them skip if it wasn't only twice a month.  We celebrated with pizza for dinner before they left.
And once they got home, we invited Riley and her parents over for ice cream sundaes!
He only wanted plain chocolate!
And a few out takes from the photo shoots!

 We love you, crazy boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Easter 2016

It was a whirlwind of a weekend with Leevi arriving at 11pm Friday night, Luke's party Saturday and then Easter on Sunday.  Leevi didn't have to head to the airport until 4pm on Monday, so we let the girls stay home from school.

Hunting for eggs that the bunny hid around the basement and in their rooms.
Man, we are gonna miss this basement!!!!!!!!!

Whitney got some baby foods to try soon in her basket and some teething toys!
 Whitney found her basket!!!

 Luke found his basket!!!
The bunny hid the big girls' baskets wayyy too hard and they almost gave up!
Now that the bunny business was out of the way, we could focus on EASTER!!!!  A few years ago we started the tradition of Tomb Rolls on Easter morning for breakfast.  Leevi read about the Resurrection from the bible while I helped the kids with their rolls.
The empty tomb! "He is not here for He is Risen as he said" Matthew 28:6
After church (which I completely failed to get one picture of anyone dressed up!) we headed to Osage beach to go to Target and then have dinner at Outback.  I was pleasantly surprised but equally disappointed that Target was CLOSED for Easter!  PetSmart was the only store open in that shopping center, so we checked out the guinea pigs which the girls are trying to convince us they are responsible enough to care for once we get to Hawaii.  We'll see!  Outback didn't disappoint though!
This will have to do for our family Easter picture!  Thankfully our circus pulled in for an early dinner before 4 so we didn't have to wait long for our food.  At the end of the meal the waiter remarked on our amazing teamwork of baby passing, bathroom runs, and entertaining the kids throughout dinner, ha!  Leevi and I high five constantly, lol!

Luke's birthday party

Somehow our sweet boy is another year older and I suppose he's not a toddler anymore, bahhhh :(  Leevi flew in for Easter weekend, so we celebrated Luke a few weeks early!

It's tradition for the kids to help me bake their cake, but then they can't see it decorated until their party!
He wanted a monster truck cake and I saw a cool idea on Pinterest with smashed cars!

Big boy!!!!!  Hailey had the idea to drive the truck around the cake for tire marks!
We had an egg hunt for a party game since it was the day before Easter.
He carried his basket around his neck!

 Yay for Daddy being home!!!!!
A perfect shot on Pie Face!

 Present time!

This kid friendly Kindle Fire was on sale for $80 including the case. It comes with a 100% warranty no questions asked...it can be dropped in the bath and stomped on and they'll replace it for free!  The girls got the adult version for Christmas, so we figured we might as well get him one with lots of travel coming up this summer and the MOVE!!!

He has been asking for a Batman house (cave) FOREVER!!!  I've had this since Black Friday where I got it 50% off!!!!  He already had too many big presents for Christmas so we held off until his bday!
The Mulhollands, Heberlings, and Riley joined us for the party!
Happy birthday, Little Buddy!!!  We all love you so much!!!
