Valentine's Day Visitors

It seems that Valentine's Day is a big day for us to have strange animal visits...last year it was this praying mantis and this year it was a butterfly. I hope you can see it in the pictures, but this yellow and black butterfly flew around the girls for a good 5 minutes coming and going. Hailey was so patient and tried to get it to land on her. In the picture below it's right in front of Kailee's knee.
So close to landing on her hand...
It landed on Kailee's bum instead!
Almost...it's to the left of Hailey's hand

Valentine's Day

Since Leevi and I had our Valentine's Day date a few days earlier, we decided to have a family Valentine's beach day and sunset picnic at KoOlina. The girls had a BLAST and the sunset was amazing! I feel almost guilty creating this post considering I read a news article a few days ago about every state in the U.S. having snow except Hawaii! The weather isn't always this perfect in February, but it was beautiful today. We played, ate dinner, got cleaned up and packed the car and then let the girls run around in the grass until the sunset.
Kailee thinking, "How the heck did I end up under here?!"

Valentine cookies after dinner

Cookie plus a little sand...she did great about not intentionally eating the sand this time
I think we saw at least 3 weddings while we were there (Valentine's special). Japanese tourists shell out a couple thousand dollars to come to KoOlina and get married. It's almost as if they are eloping...we rarely see any wedding party or family. They rent the dress and tux and get married and then walk onto the beach for pictures. I always wonder if they are able to edit the beach-goers out of the pics

Wrestling with Daddy
Yep, she threw this shoe at me!
We played hide-n-seek and this was Leevi and Kailee's hiding spot!

It was perfect!!!!
No exaggeration on this: Hailey asked if we could watch the moon come up after the sun went down and then she said, "Does this look like the moon?!" (see pic below!!!) Leevi and I were rolling and almost missed the sunset because of tears in our eyes! Don't know where she comes up with this stuff!!!!!????

Happy Valentine's Day!!!!!!!!!!!!

Valentine's Day Weekend

Thank goodness I am not a parent of a school age child because if I were I'd be pretty irritated with the Hawaii school system and these furlough days, BUT since I'm not, I am lovin these 4 day Furlough day/Monday Holiday weekends!!!!!!! Leevi and I celebrated V-day early yesterday with a double date of golf and dinner with the Stampfers. The Buelows traded kids with us for Friday/Saturday and we will watch Gavin today. On Valentine's Day we are going to celebrate as a family with a beach afternoon and sunset picnic at KoOlina. And after all of this fun we will still have one more day to relax!!!!
A not too successful attempt at a decent picture of the two of them...
Leila girl with her stolen Valentine's Day puppy...

Hailey made this Valentine for Leevi and me...I hope I'm the tall skinny one! :) Valentine heart fist prints...

Comedian Kailee Part VI

Here are two video snippets of Kailee being Kailee. I love this age because anything they do is cute! It's so amazing to see the light bulb constantly going off as she absorbs so much! The videos are of her just being goofy...Leevi was batting his eyelashes at her and she was copying him and the 2nd video is of her playing fetch like a dog! :)

The Girls

I realized I had some similar pictures of these two BFF's reading in Kailee's room...

Baby MacDonald #3

Did my title make you guys think I was pregnant?! Well........I'm not! And am desperately trying to not have Baby Mac #3, but fate may be running it's own course! The absurdity of my failed efforts at getting birth control have us really questioning our destiny. :) With LOST on the brain...are we destined to have another child no matter how much I try to prevent it?! To clear up my ramblings, here's my dilemma...

Almost a month ago I went in for my annual exam and consulted with the doctor about stopping the pill and getting an IUD. She agreed and explained the process of getting a referral, then a consult, and then the procedure (a pain, but no biggie). She said she'd give me one more pill packet to get me through the month. I left the office and headed to the pharmacy only to find (OBSTACLE #1) it would probably be an hour wait. I decided to come back at a later date because Leevi was home watching all 5 babies (his birth control!) :) I knew Leevi was going to be on post later that week, so he'd be able to pick up my prescription. When Leevi went to get the script filled we found out that (OBSTACLE #2) my dr. forgot to call it in!!! I called the next day and another doctor was able to write one for me and I could pick it up at a different pharmacy closer to some errands that I had to do that day. I went to pick it up and (OBSTACLE #3) the computers were down!!!! The next day I called to see if the computers were working and drove over to Pearl Harbor specifically for that only and (OBSTACLE #4) the prescription was supposed to get filled at Schofield! I laughed at the pharmacist and joked that someone is trying to get me pregnant! She was able to switch it around and I got it filled. I finally got my referal call and scheduled my appt for my consult. I arrived at the dr. office at 2:10 today for my 2:30 appt only to find that (OBSTACLE #5) I was late and the appt was supposed to be at 1:30!!!!!!!!!!

So.......................I am calling my doctor on Monday and getting a year prescription of the pills (not taking any chances!) and hopefully will get a second consult appt soon! Until then, hopefully FATE will stay at bay and we can continue our happy little life as a family of FOUR!

Playing School

When the babies were still taking two naps, Hailey and Gavin would have time to themselves where we could do a craft or something without worrying about the little ones. Now everyone naps at the same time (which is GREAT for me), but it's hard to do "big kid" things without the little ones wanting to participate. So, I let them, but it isn't long before playdoh and crayons start to go missing (in their mouths!)

Playdoh
Coloring/School (as Hailey calls it)Counting their dinosaurs!
She was quite productive with her scribbles
And how "school" ended....Hailey deligently finishing up her worksheet, the other babies over it and down playing, and Kailee being a monster!
And when we aren't "playing school" this is a favorite pasttime of the babies...I like to refer to it as "Hide and Scream". They hide behind the island and run out screaming!
