Cat Sitting

Hailey asked Leila to watch over her kitty while she was at school. The little kitty stayed there the entire 3 hours that Hailey was away. Such a good pup!

Hailey's FIRST Ballet Recital!

Hailey had her first ballet recital today! They danced to "You are my Sunshine". I was pretty worried about how they would do considering they only had two classes prior to the dress rehearsal to learn their dance (their teacher had been absent for the two weeks before and the assistant seemed to be just making dance moves up!) :) They pulled it together and the girls looked adorable! The other two dancers are in Preschool with Hailey (Joselyn, 4 and Kylee, 3) Hailey shares a cubbie with Kylee and she said one day "I don't mind sharing my cubbie with Kylee because she's so tiny!" Isabella and HaileyChecking out each others flowers! :) Hahaha...they are the same. When I went into the Florist on post I asked the lady if a blonde curly haired lady came in earlier (Tina, Isabella's mom). She said yes so I asked her to make me the same thing she made for Isabella so it would be fair! :) And the video...at the end you'll see Leevi on crutches (he had a torn meniscus repaired on Thursday...those crutches will be oh so fun for the next 6 weeks in the ice and snow!) Pray for a quick recovery! The girls are loving waiting on him! :)
And I added this clip from Hailey's dress rehearsal because Joselyn was so cute...her mother was quite irritated but everyone else thought it was adorable :) She was just in her own world spinning and spinning! :)

Random pics and Tidbits

The girls were amazing this day...the ONLY tiff they had was who went first to wash their hands before dinner! I really should give Hailey more credit than I do with her behavior! She is amazing with Kailee and I forget that she has to "put up with a two year old" just as much (if not more) than I do! She has spoiled me and when she does act up I have to remind myself that she's entitled to a bad day once in awhile! :)Still as naked as can be even though it's 30 degrees outside...they've got Hawaii in their blood! It's funny because Tiffany says that her kids do the same thing in NY! Our interim Baby Jesus (a Baby in my Pocket). Since I've taken this picture he has been found. I thought after a few days he'd turn up somewhere but he didn't. I started looking in specific spots thinking Kailee had put him somewhere intentionally but I found him in a bin...he must have just been cleaned up.
Kailee is always mix-n-matching the toys....here the Princess's are riding in a Little People plane. Her Strawberry Shortcake dolls often mingle with the Polly Pockets. And the Barbies and Lovin Family Dollhouse crew hang out together. Polly Pocket was Baby Jesus' mother for a day. Leevi was REALLY irritated that on December 7th the front page of the military paper that gets delivered had a picture of a solider plucking her eyebrows and didn't have a single mention of the bombing of Pearl Harbor AT ALL! As I was making dinner, the girls set up this tea party for Leevi. They made him sit here first when he got home from work before we could eat our real dinner! Fun in the snow leads to this mess everytime!
And a few recent tidbits from the girls...

*Kailee calls footed jammies "sweater jammies" because you have to zip them up.

*We asked Hailey what she wanted Santa to bring her this year and her reply was, "I don't care." Leevi and I were perplexed (especially because of her tone) but after some prompting we found out that she was implying that she doesn't care what Santa brings her and she'll be happy with whatever she gets! :) Wow, we were impressed! :)

*Kailee's latest phrase is "Just one minute" as she waggles her little finger...when I'm ready to leave, when Hailey wants a turn with a toy, on and on....it drives Hailey nuts and she always replies, "Just ONE minute not SEVEN!!!"

*I overheard Hailey telling Leevi that she had just said a prayer to God asking for Kailee to be nice to her...and then she said, "I don't think it's working."

Our Visit to Santa

We are still working on a decent picture of the girls together in front of the tree...I will get one before this holiday season is over! :) The Youth Center on post was having a Christmas party so we got the girls in their Christmas dresses and went to see Santa!

The end result of their hug...

So silly
Hailey thought putting her hand by her face would be a cute way to pose....
And of course Kailee had to copy her!

They had a ton of stations...tattoos, face painting, card making, movie room, letters to Santa, a Christmas train, gingerbread/cookie decorating...
Showing her angel tattoo

Meeting Santa! Yay! No tears! And no more torturing the girls just for a picture with Santa...maybe the torture will coming when they are 10 and I still want that Santa picture! :)

Back to the crafts
Card making

Oh my...

Our 5 years worth of Santa pics....

Kailee's First Visit to the Dentist

Kailee saw the dentist for the first time last Tuesday. She did AMAZING! We had practiced all week opening her mouth really wide! :) I think the dentist goes as far with her procedures as the child will let her and Kailee did great! Her teeth were counted (20 total), cleaned, and then painted with flouride. And she got a huge goodie bag when she was done...balloon animal, bouncy ball, ring, toothbrush, toothpaste and animal flossers! And two random pictures...Kailee and I walked to the PX when Hailey was in school. It was 27 degrees! Thankfully she loves to accessorize and wore her ski mask and allowed me to wrap her up in two blankets on top of her winter coat, hat, and gloves! She was so toasty that she fell asleep on the 15 min. walk (at 10:30am!!!) and she napped all the way through my shopping (how wonderful!!) and even through picking up Hailey at school. She woke up almost two hours later at home when I took her out of the stroller and was very surprised to see that Hailey was here! :) And should you wonder why I had to walk to the store in 27 degree weather, it's because my car was in the shop! $600 later we have a new alternator belt...Merry Christmas and Happy Anniversary to Leevi and I! :) Snug as a bug in a rug!

Snowy, our Elf

Snowy found us in Germany! He joined our family last year to watch over the girls during the holiday season and we were worried that he wouldn't find us this year in Germany! Hailey drew him a picture and told him that we've moved and he arrived the very next day!

Snowy reports back to Santa each night about the behavior of the girls each day! I tend to point out the postive to Snowy: "Wow, Snowy, do you see how nicely the girls are sharing?!" And Hailey tends to talk to him most when she's tattling on Kailee: "Snowy, did you see that Kailee just took that toy from me?!" :)
On the 2nd night that Snowy was here Hailey drew him a picture to take to Santa and sure enough the next morning it was gone! :)

Trimming the Tree

The house was decorated and the tree was up but we waited for Leevi to get home from his trip last Monday to put the ornaments on the tree.
I wish this tree was in our yard! I loved that it was actually snowing while we were decorating!
We let the girls completely take charge...I figure not too many people are going to see this tree so I let my complusion to control the situation fall to the wayside and they had fun. One day when we have a house big enough I will have a tree to decorate all of my own! :)
Kailee added her two year old touches and put as many ornaments as she could on one branch! This drove Hailey crazy! :)

And the final touch!

No luck at a decent picture of the two of them!

Merry Christmas!
