Baton

You know we live in a small town when the girls have an option to be a twirler!!!  They have baton practice once a week with the Waynesville Tigerettes!  It works out perfect because the practice is at Kailee's school and Hailey is allowed to ride the bus from her school and get off at Kailee's school.  I don't have to be there at practice, but that is the day I help out in Kailee's classroom after school until it's time to pick them up so it works out perfect.  They have participated in two parades so far this year...the Homecoming Parade and the Christmas Parade.  They really enjoy the practices, but I can't say that they love the parades and I really don't blame them....it's been SUPER cold for both parades and they can't wear gloves because their batons will slip.  They would MUCH rather bundle up and watch the parade and collect candy than march in the cold for an hour.  I think we'll drop this activity from our routine next school year, but it has been a fun small town experience!

After they finished marching in the Christmas parade, they were able to catch a bit of it themselves!
