Potty-Mouth Daycare

I doubt Steph and Mark will mind me posting these series of stories because she has mentioned similar ones about Gavin on her own blog, but they are just too cute and innocent to not tell. Gavin is a precocious 22 month old and speaks incredibly well and remembers EVERYTHING! Apparently he overheard someone say the "S" word and Gavin has repeated a few times (in context!!!) About a month ago he was at my house playing with a tiny cookie monster finger puppet on the play kitchen. It fell behind the kitchen and right on cue Gavin said, "Oh Shit! Cookie Monster fall down!" There was no way I could even attempt keeping a straight face to tell him that was an inappropriate word! :)

A few weeks later, Brooke started saying what we think is "What's that?" She slurs it together and sounds like "Zat?" or sometimes "Shat?" which can sometimes sound like "Shit"! Hailey, oh so innocently, says, "Gavin says a word like that". We never made a big deal about Gavin saying "shit" to try not to encourage him and Hailey didn't seem to know that it was a bad word, but she also didn't know what it meant. She bent over to Brooke with her hands on her knees and said, "Brookie, are you saying 'shit'? Shit? Shit? Is that was you are saying, Brookie? Shit?" I lost it! :)
