Camping with the Greens 4th of July weekend

We celebrated the 4th of July with a BBQ at our house with some of Leevi's co-workers, the Greens, Kents, and Baez-Ans.  (I didn't take any pictures, but I have to put a picture of Iris and her boys on here from one of our playdates... they are great friends visiting her parents in Germany and we have had the wonderful opportunity to link up with them for a 3rd time since we moved here.  They moved this summer to HAWAII!!!!!  We met the Baez-Ans at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, when I was pregnant with Hailey...the only playdates we had back then were with our dogs!)

We bailed on all of the 4th festivities on post due to the crowds and the fact that the fireworks didn't start until almost 11pm.  We knew we wanted to get a good start for camping in the morning and we knew that we potentially might not get the best sleep for the next two nights!

Hangin in the tent!  The Green boys are like Luke's big brothers!

The campsite had a pool but it was pretty chilly!!!!
There were three separate pools (lap pool/high dive, main large pool with a slide, and a baby pool).  This was the first time the kids jumped off the high dive.  Hailey has jumped off a diving board with some decent height, but not this tall!

Our campsite was right on the river!

He definitely kept us busy, but thankfully the kids are great with him and he had 9 sets of eyes on him all weekend!
Explorin after dinner!  The kids did swim in this river one night too!

This momma duck walked her babies through the campsite each morning (smart momma!), but she was ON IT if she sensed danger (we all wondered how we could get our kids to listen that quickly!) The kids loved it!!!!
The town was just a short walk away (we actually walked into another country).  We didn't know much about the town, but we stumbled across some pretty cool sites!

We bribed the hot kids with ice cream!

We had an awesome time and this was the first time that the Green boys had camped!  Everyone did wonderful and the kids had a BLAST!  Leevi and the girls definitely love it more than I do, but I'm a good sport as long as there are showers and toilets! :)  I'm content with a once-a-year camping trip, but Leevi is ready to go again before the summer is over!  We'll see!  I know I'll enjoy it more when the kids are older!!!
